NEW ZEALAND AIR GAMES
27 – 28 December 2007

Flying NZ was proud to  present the Inaugural New Zealand Air Games in Wanaka on 27 and 28 December 2007 in conjunction with the World GP Gliding Championships in Omarama and Wanaka - 19 - 28 December.

Flying NZ wants to improve the public awareness of aviation sports and increase the membership of all sports aviation groups in New Zealand.  Flying NZ considered that the New Zealand Air Games provided a perfect vehicle for achieving this vision.

The New Zealand Air Games was sanctioned by the FAI as a national event, and it is intended that it becomes a biennial event.  Future events will be hosted around New Zealand or could be permanently based in Wanaka.

It was also the initial event in a new international Air Sports Live circuit and a pilot model for the FAI World Air Games, which will be occurring in Turin, Italy, in 2009.

Leading edge television and internet streaming coverage of the event was  organised by Air Sports Ltd to provide exposure of the ten sports to a national and international audience.

Results from the 2007 New Zealand Air Games.
